White Man's Paper
White Man's Paper is Rick Modglin's Impression of his grandmother's life. He remembers her stories of how a piece of paper (known as a treaty) gave "white man" permission to steal Indian Land.
The piece in the lower right corner represents the title of the work. It's an Indian symbol for man. like the entire sculpture, it's made of 100% cotton paper. Rick states that he chose this medium because it is symbolic of his Grandmother's loss: it is made of "white man's paper".
